- Assessment Day

- Kennel

- Temperament Matching
- The practice of grouping dogs by size, energy level, and play style during daycare to ensure safe and enjoyable interactions.
- Enrichment
- Activities designed to stimulate a dog mentally and physically, such as puzzle toys, scent work, and supervised play.
Grooming Terms
- De-shedding
- A grooming treatment that removes loose undercoat hair to reduce shedding at home. Especially helpful for double-coated breeds like Labs, Huskies, and German Shepherds.
- Breed Cut / Breed Standard
- A haircut that follows the traditional grooming pattern for a specific breed, such as a Schnauzer cut or Poodle clip.
- Puppy Cut
- A uniform-length trim (usually 1-2 inches) over the entire body. Popular for Doodles, Shih Tzus, and other long-coated breeds.
- Teddy Bear Cut
- A rounded, fluffy style on the face and body that gives the dog a soft, stuffed-animal appearance. Common for Bichons, Poodles, and Doodle mixes.
- Hand Stripping
- A grooming technique for wire-coated breeds (Terriers, Schnauzers) where dead hair is pulled by hand instead of clipped to maintain coat texture and color.
